OT: American Politics

I’m thankful everyone seems mad at what they said at the rally but… holy fuck, why now?

Why did a bunch of women in this country have to watch Trumpers at rallies since he came down the escalator wear tshirts that say “life’s a bitch, don’t vote for one” about Hillary, or “Joe and the Ho” merch, or any one of the 3738865 gross comments degrading either of the two female Presidential candidate? Why hasn’t the misogyny been enough for millions of men?

And why this particular Puerto Rico comment and not the other hundreds of ways they’ve insulted Latino voters. Boggles the mind.

Did a little thinking on this and similar situations.

If we play allegory (kind of), I think that sometimes, when a bad thing gets a certain amount of public attention, it's like shining a light on it...I think most of the time most of the trumpers don't really even understand their bad thoughts, so when the light is bright enough they can actually see it for what it is.

It's gotta be bright cause they're not

3 guesses as to which FI poster put this on their Facebook feed.

"I get the push for latinos to vote Harris over the MSG comment. However, using that logic, no man or white should vote Democrat as they label us toxic and all whites racist. Sauce for goose is sauce for gander."

There probably shouldn’t be a lot of wiggle room for calling the female Prez nominee a ho either, other than… this is how men refer to women so often it has been ingrained as acceptable/or that this particular woman “deserves” it.

The key here is that Trump didn’t say it. Trump can say anything and get away with it. An asshole said it.

What Trump didn’t do is swiftly disavow it. And now, the damage is done.

We've even made it fucking adorable.

I canceled yesterday as well, and sent my clear feedback as to why, though I have several months left before it would hurt them with a missing renewal.

I actually would’ve liked being able to leave some clear feedback on my way out the door, even if it’s unlikely anyone ever would’ve read it.

But when I got to the part of the cancellation where I was asked my reason for cancelling, all I was given to choose from was a handful of checkboxes with extremely vague, generic reasons (“not enough local coverage”, “quantity of original reporting”, “too expensive”) and no option to write in anything myself.

Wonder if they shut off and/or limited the subscriber feedback to protect Jeffy’s feelings and make his decision look less bad.

Nah, vile and racist things have been said repeatedly at his rallies since the beginning.

MSG might have been the first time all the media outlets said racist though now that I think about it.
