It's harder for trump to grift on this if the polls and media messaging had him losing for weeks, that partly my reasoning...I also can't help but wonder if those Americans truly afraid of Orange Hitler didn't want those casting a vote against trump to think they could sit this one out.

I think, ( and I don't love this as a model) this is one of those time fear should be a motivator.
