I would like to draw people's attention to the last portion of that and remind everyone that the US dropped the sun on Japan twice back in the 40's. I know Trump has a thing for hyperbole, but you'd have to hit something pretty fucking hard to top that.

Because for some reason, Fox News is available in Canada.
Also, most didn't pay attention in history class, and believe that Canada is just like the US in terms of governance and laws - meaning that their rights are regularly being tread on.

Used to be that one of the few truly universal threads that bound all Canadians together was our shared pride in NOT being Americans or like Americans, and our determination to remain that way.
Honestly though, I’m not fully confident that Maple MAGA people like Danielle Smith, Pierre Poilievre & their associated Klownvoy fans wouldn’t enthusiastically support the idea of Canada being subsumed into a fully Christofascist America lead by Trump.

It’d be one thing if it was just one of Trump’s personal idiotic flights of fancy, like the Greenland thing. But this is something MAGA proxies have been musing publicly for the past couple of years.
And to be clear—even in the worst-case, most hysterical scenario, I have an almost impossible time imagining Trump launching a literal ground & air invasion of Canada.
But the idea that might enter into his head is that if he seriously proposes this “merger” and is rejected, enough tariffs and a concerted and sustained enough effort to destroy the Canadian economy might change our minds.
