OT: American Politics

I think the "tech bros" are about to learn a few painful lessons

They don't actually produce anything that anyone cares about. No one really cares about Tesla, or ChatGPT, or whatever financialized scam company/app is hot with Wall Street this week. The part of the American system these weirdo tech oligarchs care about is the same part that the MAGA base actually wants to tear down. The indian engineers that are just a cheap and easy labour pool for them are the same people MAGA wants gone, and they're probably the first thing Fox/Newsmaxx casts their gaze onto after enough Mexicans get thrown out.

They're also going to learn that you don't buy Donnie. You rent him for as long as it's worth it for him to take your money. You're not his boss, you're his mark.

Good editorial in the WSJ the other day where they cited that Trump’s big mandate is limited to lowering prices, bring order to the southern border, and pull back from what Americans see as the Democrats’ excesses on cultural issues.

All the other shit — tariffs, deporting people, engaging in lawfare with enemies, having Musk in charge of cutting government programs, etc is not polling very well… so if he’s not careful, his presidency can get stuck in quicksand and never recover
