The US had a 25% tariff on pick ups from Japan while Japan had zero tariffs on US pick ups.
One reason: Japanese cars are the global standard for quality mass production of cars and the US churns out garbage. It was the last resort to protect the Big 3.

Media needs to get the message better. It’s not retaliation- it’s “trump” tariffs. Or something along these lines to tie him to this decision.
