The plan is for people to die and die sooner.

Cuts to social security = people die
Cuts to medicare and medicaid = people die
Cuts to HHS = people die
Cuts to the CDC = people die
Cuts to the National Weather Service = people die
Cuts to the FDA = people die
Cuts to the EPA = people die

Older people who can no longer work are a burden, a cost, to the government so they are trying to hasten their demise. If a few kids or a few olds die of diseases or poisons to which, as children or as elderly, they are more susceptible to dying from, fine and dandy. Cull the herd.

There's a reason why life expectancy in the US keeps going down compared to other western nations. It's now happening on purpose.

They've done that by default by making life unaffordable so that people can't retire, or they have to spend their retirement money on supporting their underemployed kids. Now Trump's fuckery of the stock market will tank whatever retirement savings these shmoes have left. They'll work into the grave.

In the US, the work ethic has morphed into a fetish where people don't even want to retire or they view retirement as something only for woke libs to aspire.
 
Tapper is just another now-former journalist who has been brought to heel by Trump and turned into a shill. He fears reprisals more than he values his integrity. A real journalist would not be intimidated so easily, but TV journalists have now become celebrities and are paid like celebrities so they now have more to lose than the ink-stained wretches of long ago. Today, comforting the afflicted and afflicting the comfortable carries too much risk and, when all is said and done, guys like Tapper are themselves "the comfortable" now, so why rock the boat?
