OT: American Politics

I think you’re overcomplicating a very simple point (deliberately?), which is that nobody gives a shit about these other actual genocides and war crimes.

No mass protests, no boycotts, no awards ceremony speeches about them, no Greta sailing over to them, no coverage in the news, no violence against people in the west whose ancestry traces back to those places. Nothing. Nada. Only the Jews inspire them all. Wonder why.
Just because other genocides get less media attention doesn't make the genocide in Gaza any less of a genocide. And just because antisemitism exists in the world doesn't give Israel a pass on committing genocide in Gaza.

If, when credibly accused of committing genocide, your only response is "antisemitism", then I hate to tell you this, but you have no valid counter-argument.

You keep referring to these other genocides as "actual" genocides as if to say that the one happening in Gaza isn't an "actual" genocide. But it is a genocide and none of your whining about it will change this. You need to own it. You need to eat it. You need to accept the objective reality that Benjamin Netanyahu is a genocidal fascist war criminal who needs to be tried, convicted and hanged. And you further need to accept that "antisemitism" has sweet fuck all to do with any of it.

I think this argument sidesteps that states were winning the legal fight on SNAP. Even setting the political optics aside, the Democrats were winning on this issue as much as it could be won. They were showing actual courage, energizing more people to join the fight against the Trump regime, etc. I don't think you can get a bunch of people amped up to fight for the words coming out of your mouth, take them out at the knees by making a deal without any sort of apparent gain but then turn and tell those people "don't worry about this, we've got another fight coming in January!". The core problem imo is that establishment democrats aren't fighting the same fight everyone else is.

Yeah, even if this guy raises some salient points the messaging from establishment Dems is terrible - bad look. Project 2025 is going for the jugular to impose Christian oligarchy, and these guys are looking up parliamentary procedure rules.
