Specific to his point...the Maccabees fought a war/revolution against the greeks, the same people who handed down the vast majority of the political philosophy that became the underpinnings of the United States experiment. They fought that revolution, largely, to preserve the superstitious aspects of their religion.
So what Bibi is saying here is that fighting against the people who were the origin of the vast majority of political philosophy (and practiced it at the time, it's that practice that caused the issues the maccabees were revolting against) that directly led to the beliefs of the founders of the US, is what actually allowed for the creation of the US...because something something judeo christianity.
What this really is though, is Bibi jerking off the evangelicals by trying to reroute the ideological beginnings of the United States to jewish religiousity instead of through Greek political philosophy, which is it's obvious origin point.
