You know, I have a different viewpoint on this, and it is all predicated on Trump living long enough. And that is: there are worse things in this life than death.

This came to me when I watched the series finale of The Boys.

Spoilers: don't read any more if you don't want to know how it ended.







So, in the final showdown between Butcher and Homelander, The Boys (Kimiko) depowers Homelander, and he becomes a snivelling, humiliated little man begging for his life. Butcher, because he is a psychopath and a broken human being, takes a crowbar and rips open Homelander's head.

That got me thinking: was that the justice that he had coming? That the Starlighters, the World, the US needed? Or did Homelander get off easy?

To me, Homelander needed to see the consequences of his actions, to see the depraved and corrupting actions that resulted from his unlimited power. The world needed to be shown what this type of power does.

In short, he needed his Nuremberg Trial. Not his quick death.

Trump needs his version as well. He needs to see his name and brand get tarnished and destroyed. That Trump's name holds the same meaning as Nixon's.

That would be worse than a bullet to the brain. It certainly was for Nixon.

You’re dreaming if you think Trump is ever going to face any genuine consequences.

These are pretty much the only possible outcomes I see:

A) He remains in power either until he dies, or until his brain turns to complete mush from dementia. Either way, he’ll be beyond the reach of any kind of justice.

B) He gets booted out of power while still living and somewhat sentient, but the Dems either decline to pursue him legally at all for the sake of “national unity”, or they drag their feet until the clock runs out like they did from 2021-24.

Oh, I'm not talking about any sort of quick, merciful, humanitarian putting down of a sick animal in need of euthanasia. I'm in favor of a quick end to one of the most toxic results of what's been developing for the past 50 years or so, unchecked in a serious manner. After his disposal, less distracted actions can be taken to begin the repairs. . .IF those actions are taken.
