How can you look at a guy contributing millions of real dollars and say they aren't paying their "fair share" when their contribution eclipses that of the rest of the people?
Because macro >>>> micro
If there wasn't a functioning society in place that allowed for the rich to profit, there would be no profit. Again, when you look at countries that tax in the way I would consider fair, not only does everyone else live better, but there are far more rich people per capita than in places around the world that tax the way you think would be proper.
It's usually the "takers" that bitch about these things. Students, welfare cases, assorted SJW's, etc. IE: those that contribute the least, or not at all.
Cute strawman. I'm none of the above.
It's real easy to say "tax the rich more, they can afford it" when it doesn't affect your pocket.
Again, adorable strawman you've built here. The fact is, that tax rates for the rich have been much higher in the previous decades and the rich were doing just fine then.
Shit costs money. Need highways to get your workers to your factory in an efficient manner? Shit costs money. Need electrical grids to supply your factory with juice? Shit costs money. Need educated employees to not blow your shit up? Shit costs money. If we were paying for that "fairly", none of it would exist, and you wouldn't even bother building the factory.
Again....when you look at the best places in the world to be rich...never mind middle class, working class, etc...but rich...filthy ****ing rich, they're almost without fail, countries with progressive taxation codes. It's almost as if we're not living in an Ayn Rand wonderland of individualist self determination, and instead living in an interconnected society where the benefits of wealth distribution is positively felt by everyone. The best, most stable ROI is in liberal democracies with progressive taxation models.
