Yeah, it’s a salve for dummies and people with a superiority complex.

But they also feed into the psychosis of people who are straight-up mentally ill. One of my old friends fell into that toxic deep-end around 10 years ago after some kind of psychotic break, and still hasn’t pulled himself out to this day.

These days, the only time anyone hears from the guy is when he occasionally logs into his Facebook account and posts rambling, raging Alex Jones style rants against whatever shadowy forces he thinks runs the world.
