Pestilence is usually referred to plague but locusts work as well. Covid definitely applies to Pestilence.hmm.. was Pestilence the plague of locusts, or an actual disease in the Bible. I forget.
Flashback:
Trump in a March 1990 Playboy interview said, "When the students poured into Tiananmen Square, the Chinese government almost blew it. Then they were vicious, they were horrible, but they put it down with strength. That shows you the power of strength. Our country is right now perceived as weak...as being spit on by the rest of the world."
So this has gotta be the watershed moment on policing in America, in one direction or the other no? Either they're going to go full blown authoritarian, or there has to be massive overhauls...right?
Surely we can't see blatant examples of excessive police violence repeated in city after city and have no long term changes come of this.
out of curiousity...what is the response? I'm obviously not pro looting and burning, but what hasn't been tried at this point? They've protested (and "polite" society always seems to have a problem with how they do it), they came out in record numbers to elect a black president, only to have white people recoil 8 years later and elect the most singularly useless public figure in modern human history to try to expunge the memory of a (half) black man in the big chair.
What is the acceptable response here that would bring change?
that is what i thought after ferguson / st louis
You disapprove of support for the Police?
I know some cops, I'm sure you do or at least have as well, I don't think it's fair that people condemn all of them for the actions of the idiots among them.
Every group, every race has utter morons among them.
They should vet psychological profiles better though, no question.
calm down louis litt. how can you not see advocating more police violence and brutality will only inflame the situation even more?
