I could be wrong but I believe in previous lawsuit attempts SCOTUS ruled the police aren’t actually obligated to protect you… there was a case where a woman had a restraining order, they attended and chose not to enforce it and then he killed her and her kids. Kinda insane.

Looks like it’s The Town of Castle Rock vs Gonzalez and it’s all the usual Republican cunts with Ginsburg and Stevens dissenting

The authorities now say that local officers first entered the school at 11:35, two minutes after the gunman, and that there were 19 officers in the hallway by 12:03 p.m., but that they did not breach the door and kill the gunman until 12:50, even as they continued to hear him firing.

I mean even if that's true, I'm sure someone will come up with something that could stick. whether or not it does... (it probably won't, ugh)
