The guy they quote btw is a militia commander who is being backed by the administration. No coincidence there either. It was all because of the video. So here is the timeline...

Claim a generic statement about 9/11/01 was actually saying Benghazi was a terrorist attack. Forget that and pound this video spontaneous demonstration (as everyone knows you should bring your RPGs, Bazookas and heavy armament to spontaneous demonstrations) for two weeks. Call it what it was... a terrorists attack. Now what? Flip back to hey, it was all because of a youtube video? Coverup scandal or not, the administration looks stupid.

Again with you and the without motive. Obama has been pounding Al Qaeda is on it's heels then this happens. Is it a coincidence that they now took that line, Al Qaeda on it's heels out of his stump speech? The motive is the President thumping his chest about how he got Al Qaeda and terrorism under control. Errr not so much.
 
the administration has admitted al qaeda still exists... and admitted the 'truth' of the event shortly after it happened (i.e. a coordinated attack by terrorists).

i'm not sure what benefit delaying with a lie would have for them. the truth came out... from their own (proverbial) lips.

I have been listening to his speeches for over a month now. He had repeatedly claimed that his administration has Al Qaeda on it's heels and terrorism abated. Then Benghazi and now they are no longer making those claims just this past week. They were still making those claims on Oct 3. Some genius advised the President to try and wash it away as there is a big difference between a planned and orchestrated terrorist attack and a spontaneous demonstration.

I spent an hour going over various youtube clips from the 24 hours prior and I saw tons of bullshit by FOX, tons. I also saw tons by MSNBC, NBC and ABC. About the best I could find was CBS and CNN. The right is pandering to their base and I think what is really getting to you is how "undecideds" could select Mitt Romney after the second debate. That is what this is all about. You're incredulous to the fact people still swung to Romney after that performance. Get over it, you will NEVER understand the center-right or right in the country. Why bother trying.

I find this highly hypocritical because when Bush did this sort of thing every news outlet was up his ass. No administration is without controversy, I get that, but I want to know why they strutted out surrogate after surrogate and lied for two weeks.
 
12 seperate attacks on U.S. Diplomatic facilities under Bush.

Not to mention many, many more terrorist attacks on u.s. troops during that time.
 
Doesn't change the fact this administration bold faced lied for two weeks, including in front of the U.N. assembly. Why?

And if they are so proud of their terrorism record, why did the message change this week on Obama's stump speeches?

Blackie, please reread the posts. EVERY administration has their controversies, the apologetic stance of people for what is clearly another one is hypocritical. The administration flat out lied for two weeks. Why? I want them to give me a plausible explanation and not throw subordinates under the bus. They knew the night of, why lie?
 
Oh and I will not defend Bushes lies. I am embarrassed to have voted for him in 2000. That man changed my political outlook. Sure I still don't agree with almost everything Obama says but I sure as shit don't like the lunatic right that BUSH ALLOWED to hijack the party. Make no mistake about it, Bush/Cheney are the reason they got control.

You're actually preaching to the choir, here. I haven't once defended these lies.
But my point was, there wasn't anywhere near as much calls for investigation or accusations of conspiracy after Colin Powell's little dump.
The Right just seems to cry louder.

No but seriously, I would like to have an intelligent discussion about this because it genuinely bothers me. Why lie about it. What are we not seeing. On the surface you can say it was to defend their anti-terrorist record. There has to be more there, what is it?
