No. They don't. This isn't the United States.
Sure they do.

That's insane - the turnover would be huge.So a term of roughly twice what the PM who appointed them gets? No, I don't agree, and neither does any other sane Canadian.
Three, maybe four years, tops.
The auditors report shows that over nearly a decade, and over two different governments (half of that time being under LIBERAL leadership) that funding was neither wasted or misspent, but rather accounted for incorrectly. The actual auditor's report shows that amount unaccounted for.
He still wants the F35s, and that's what they would cost over their lifetime.
Own up to it.
I love your assumptions. You don't know a thing about me, yet you dismiss my thoughts. By your own admission, you are the one ignorant on this issue, yet you can still arrogantly think you know more than I do about it.I'll be honest - I have no knowledge of this particular issue. My guess is that aside from that article you don't either.
Clearly cutting veterans services is bad - but streamlining veterans services isn't. Whether something carries the weight of Veterans or not, if it can be improved then it must be.
How often to case managers even meet with Veterans anyways?
That's insane - the turnover would be huge.
If we want to get the 'best' candidates then we need to offer some tenure to the position. Few people would leave their businesses, practices, whatever, just for a 3-year Senate appointment.
And they cancelled the contract. You should be happy, no? I'd rather have a government that can admit when it's wrong, which is exactly what happened in this instance.
Everyone wins.
The cancelled project is back on. Look it up.
Problem was, they only admitted they were wrong after the election. And they cancelled the contract. You should be happy, no? I'd rather have a government that can admit when it's wrong, which is exactly what happened in this instance.

Dear lord.
Sure some of ties (or were even former MPs, or MLA,s ) but no parties in municipal politics.
Problem was, they only admitted they were wrong after the election.
Beforehand, they were lying through their teeth to parliament and the public about what their ill-fated jets would cost.
I can't think of another time when you've brought this issue up - but even then, not sure why you think I suggested that I know more than you do. I blatantly admitted not following this particular topic...I love your assumptions. You don't know a thing about me, yet you dismiss my thoughts. By your own admission, you are the one ignorant on this issue, yet you can still arrogantly think you know more than I do about it.
Well, 30 salaries would be saved...that's just a guess though. As I've already shown, the case loads are already way too high, based on what his own minister says is his standard, but they're still going to close them.
Do you even know how many people work in those offices? What will be saved by putting 30 people or so out of work and forcing vets to travel five hours to get service? If that's acceptable streamlining to you, then I'd say you suck as a manager.
I know you have been jerking off to this Senate scandal for the past few months, but the Senate does provide a service that this country benefits from. A second form of debate on a topic is never a bad thing.High turnover is a problem for a group that's known to do nothing useful for the rest of their lives?? Seriously???
They need new jets. Stop bitching. There will be an open and transparent process for the bidding.
Exactly.
What sort of personal ideology or political affiliation that elected municipal officials have in their personal time has no bearing on their day-to-day operations as public servants.
Or at least shouldn't in theory.
