Anyway, one issue the left routinely gets wrong is that cuts to defense spending are a fundamental part of getting the fiscal house in order down the road. They aren't, they simply will not bend the curve.

1. Your silly insult "rules" don't interest me. Go find some random child on the playground to use those on.
2. Nobody said he's procured them. Even considering them is a bad idea for a multitude of reasons, already mentioned. Too expensive; can't fly in the arctic; won't have the same hardware / software as the U.S. version; no bidding process; etc. I know you carry their card in your pocket, so nothing they do blindly matters to you, but step back and try a little common sense for a change. We need new jets - but the F35s don't fit our needs. End of story.

You're just repeating the criticisms that I've already leveled at the aircraft and then ignored what I've said, attributing to me some position that I never took on them. I don't want them either.

Like seriously, you do this all the time on here. Someone will have the same position as you on a topic and you'll actually get into an argument over them as if they disagreed.

But that's not even the point. The point is that your hyper-partisan sensibilities frequently allow you to ignore actual waste like billions in wasted tax dollars in Ontario by the Liberals and focus on scenarios that haven't even happened yet. At least I have the ability to separate myself from the party line and formulate an opinion that differs from theirs. Otherwise I would want the aircraft.

Very true. Maybe some adjustments need to be made, but removing them entirely is not the answer.

Australia has a small fleet of Apaches and they have a smaller population than us, so there is no real reason why we shouldn't have a few of those ourselves. They would have been insanely valuable in Afghanistan as a close air support option for the light and mechanized ground infantry.

Whatever you said after that post is irrelevant to your telling me to stop complaining that they're still after the F35s. You don't even believe they're still after them, despite me posting the proof more than once in this thread. You think the F35s are dead, and believe an open and transparent bidding process is ongoing, when it's clear that they are waiting until the summer of next year to decide on jets we can't use.
As much as you say you agree with me that they should choose something else, you're not acknowledging that they're not even interested in anything else. Ever since his first election win, it's been F35s or bust. That's the fact.
