“Let the adults run the show” is quite the thing to say when your party is about to nominate Trump.

Pretty much all the R politicians that have gained influence in recent years are cut from the same screechy, crybaby, feelings-over-facts MAGA cloth. Trump is just fully governed by his emotions. The ultimate drama queen.
 
I wouldn’t be shocked if a Democrat took over the leadership if there was a vacancy in the house again. Think a few moderates Rs would have had enough and just want to accomplish shit for a few months before the general.
