OT: American Politics

Odds for "deportation" to El Salvador?

U.S.-born man held for ICE under Florida’s new anti-immigration law

God, these fucking dumbass American shitheels who end up shocked and outraged only when the Trump idiocy they’re happily expecting to hurt other people—in this case, that being this guy’s longtime supplier from Canada—only for it to boomerang back and hurt them instead.

Fuuuuuuck all of them. I hope his business goes under and he ends up broke, starving and destitute.

Yeah, no sympathy for people like that. Just annoying how many people in the US and around the world are impacted, and how much worse things have been than even the pessimistic election day narratives.

the morons in charge just really fundamentally don't understand how anything works. but they're certain in their belief that not only do they understand, but they've figured it out in ways mere mortals could never

Yep. That’s why the bond market reacted so badly. It’s not just not that tariffs were imposed, but very much the way they were “calculated” and rolled out. It confirmed these people are idiots.

Was the guy expecting prices to stay the same while the supplier was hit with a big tariff. Like none of that would be passed along to him.
In the article he says he has a “contract” and goes on to say “I’m not even sure it’s legal!”

“I’m not even sure it’s legal! We contracted for the price on delivery,” he told the magazine. “If your price of fuel goes up or your truck breaks down, that’s not my problem! That’s what the contract’s for.”

After getting smacked with FAFO, AND speaking to a reporter about it, this dumb fuck still does not understand that his Ontario supplier doesn’t pay the tariff.
