Kinda refreshing that in this sick timeline where "evangelicals" have bastardized God's message, embraced a movement of monsters for political power, and literally turned their backs on everything that Jesus actually stood for .... at least the new Pope gets it, and will act accordingly against this evil by standing up for the downtrodden, the meek, the sick, the poor, the forgotten ... exactly what Jesus would do if he were here now.

Yeah I always wondered too. A pretty good book I read recently about those early years was In the Garden of Beasts and it’s based on the US ambassador in Germany’s experiences in Berlin as Hitler took power. Pretty fascinating and so so many similiarities to now.

I see you're still going with the "doesn't identify themself" defense, despite literally the first words out of his mouth when they go for him are, umm, identifying himself.
