OT: American Politics

If anyone should be bitter about MAGA, it's Hunter, and he is not.

I also think it is wishful thinking that MAGA hasn't changed American Politics. Because the young Dems have been paying attention and have taken notes.

The Maga resentment isn't going away though. 35% of the country violently fucking hates the rest of the country and wants to spend the rest of time with their boots on the necks of the 65%.

There's no fixing that. You can beat it, but you can't fix it. I'm hopeful about the new wave of Dems coming through but they haven't proven than they can beat the status quo Democrats yet.

That there third sentence in the last paragraph: 👍(adding a strategic "yet.")

Gonna take a fuckton of time to fix the mess and I've long reconciled myself to the fact that I won't see a significant part of that fix, if any. Meantime, I'll non-naively take any positives such as these little "Hunterisms" as microscopic building blocks towards that fix. Young Dems got a lotta work ahead.

Hunter is entitled to feel however he wants, especially considering Graham is someone he probably knew personally for many years as a friend of his dad’s. But I think this is an overly charitable remembrance of Graham.

It’s easy to be chummy and collegial with the political opposition when times are normal. When it doesn’t cost you anything.

The test of who he really is as a person came when fascism came to his country and required him to become a devotee to someone he recognized as a disastrous candidate, turn against his former friends and ignore just about every value and political position he’d previously held, all for the sake of just staying in power.

That’s how he should be remembered. That’s who he really was.

Wouldn't it be cool if the folks who have possession of and control of the files just dumped 'em out to the public? Someone(s) must have that ability.

Lacking desire? Not paid enough/too much?
