OT: Anyone here plays Eastside Hockey Manager? (It's 75%off on steam)

I had of course heard about the game before but never gave it a shot. Saw a bunch of posts about it this week again and decided to give it a shot.

I downloaded updated rosters. The game requires a lot of patience. Any of you play it?

never heard of it. no idea what you are referencing lol
Oh sorry. It's a PC/MAC game by SEGA. You pay the role of the GM (and coach if you choose to) of a hockey team (most leagues around the world including the NHL are available).

You deal with roster moves, scouting, player development, staffing, ownership pressure, ticket sales, practice drills, roster management (lines, calling players up and down, releasing, trading, signing players) etc.

The game itself has fake players but that's a quick fix. Just need to download a database called TBL for the game (very easy to do, I can show you how).

You can find the main game here:

This would be the same sort of idea as the Football Manager series that is much more popular around the world. It's too bad East side hockey manager wasn't continued officially. Damn addicting games. Even if you don't like soccer I recommend giving it a shot. You'll be cursing like it's real life in no time.

I would be remiss if I didn't try to plug the game from my company, Franchise Hockey Manager 4 (currently on at 50% off). I mean, I don't fault you for buying EHM given that it's like 5 bucks, but also do keep in mind that EHM's sales were not enough to support a full time developer, so the only updates or continuation to the series will come when the lead developer has spare time to work on it. FHM is in ongoing development and will continue to release new updated versions every year.

Also a good time to mention the game I work on, Out of the Park Baseball, which tends to be much higher rated than the hockey games. We were the Metacritic PC game of the year in 2016. It's on sale for like 10 bucks now, and if you're into baseball, it's pretty awesome, and not just because they pay me to say that.

I really wanted to love FHM but I had constant, constant issues with getting it to run properly. White screen of death on the regular. Followed all the advice given on the steam forums by the staff and still nothing.

I run football manager without a hitch for decades long campaigns on the same laptop.

Yeah, I remember back a few years ago you mentioned stuff and it didn't seem to help. Not sure if you've tried it in the last year or so with better success, or what the issues ended up being. I do know the game has improved the last couple years, but I don't really deal with them on a day to day basis to know exactly what's improved or still lacking.

I'm replacing both my laptop and desktop shortly so maybe I'll give it another whirl then. The game play wasn't bad at all but yeah, the technical end was a complete whore.

Ok, I saw this and decided to grab it.

Holy shit, this is a good game.EA sports needs to buy it and add it to the NHL series.
