OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

They can survive anything yet all I hear is people complaining about the maintenance involved. Simply use your hands to wash it and re-season once in awhile... Or better yet? Don't. Season it once and just fucking cook on it. Best shit ever.

Kosher salt cleans them.
After using I reheat the pan, boil some water...pouring boiling water on a warm pan lifts almost everything up, kosher salt and scrubbing gets the rest.
Get rid of any trace of water and you're good to go.

Yeah you sorta have to have a two-tiered shopping list.

You want a longterm one and then a weekly fresh one.

For as long as you can you want to plan a weekly shop for fresh stuff for that week - fresh veg, fruit, dairy, and even meat. That should only be a couple shelves of fridge space.

But if you haven't built up a longterm stockpile then take good look at your storage/freezer space and try to fill it with:

- canned beans and tomatoes
- frozen veggies
- frozen meat - especially ground meat and sausage
- pasta and rice

Those are the essentials imo.

Then there's the stuff that works long and short term like nuts, or especially all the classic Italian antipasti stuff - cured sausages and pickled veggies - which lasts forever in your fridge and you can snack on any time.

Yeah, that’s the way I do it. Every time my supply of fresh fruit & veg is about to run out, I’ll go on my supply run.

First is "nice to have" fruits & veg that don't necessarily have a ton of shelf life:
  • Mangoes
  • Raspberries
  • Blueberries (though I'm finding these keep for a while)
  • Green Beans
  • Bok Choy
  • Peppers
  • Tomatoes
  • Mushrooms
Then there's the fresh fruits and veg that'll easily keep for at least a couple of weeks:
  • Oranges
  • Grapefruit
  • Apples
  • Broccoli
  • Carrots
  • Onions
I'll also grab enough meat to fill my freezer back up and replace the stuff I've eaten since my last trip, and get milk & cheese.

Once all the fresh stuff is taken care of, then as best as I can I'll add to my stock of dried/canned/packaged stuff that'll keep for months. I don't get each one of these things every time, just supplement whatever I don't feel I have enough of:

  • Dried Beans
  • Canned Beans
  • Rice
  • Canned tomatoes
  • Tomato sauce
  • Pasta
  • Oats
  • Nuts
  • Canned vegetables
  • Canned Fruit
  • Frozen fruit/veg
  • Flour
  • Sugar
  • Beef jerky
  • Coffee
  • Tea
  • Meal replacements with high protein (stuff like Boost, Ensure)

And then yeah, the suggestion someone had above to stock up on chocolate is a good one. I'll look to grab a bunch of baker's chocolate on my next run, and grab a few of my favourite chocolate bars as well.

Also good to make sure you've got a good supply of any household needs you might need:

  • Detergent (laundry, dishwasher)
  • Dish Soap
  • Household cleaners
  • Wipes
  • Paper Towels
  • Shampoo
  • Soap
  • Toothpaste
  • Cold/Flu medication
  • Pain medication
  • Scrubbing pads
  • Steel Wool

Love cast iron, literally fucking bomb proof. 2 skillets (12 and 8 inch), grill pan, double sided plancha/griddle, and cast iron/enamel dutch oven.

The only thing it can't survive is idiots.

I'm a relatively recent convert to cooking on cast iron. Can't believe what I was missing.

Just simply the best for cooking meat and vegetables. And once you've got proper seasoning down, it's the best no-stick, easy-to-clean cookware you're going to find anywhere.

Preston's buddy that ran his through the dishwasher should definitely be shot, though.

I have five very important wealthy smart guys who put Trump on a pedestal. But I told them all. He was part of all of the overall.

THIS, is HOW, corona, AIDS, CANCER, FLUS, COLDS are spread. Its a mult trillion dollar program.

So put away your santizers(which are mostly isopropyl alcohol, cancers favorite food) and stay inside for a while.

Come on, only Barney Rubble and maybe on a bad hair day, Fred Flinstone would believe that this is spread by hand to hand sneeze to sneeze contact.

Jeezus peeps.

Cancer also loves sugar And all our foods are sugared now. Cept veggies.

They have been spraying the shit out of Kitchener/waterloo for two weeks now. Keep an eye on the figures out of this region, soon. Zeke.

As HItler once said. "People only believe the HUGE lie" Small lies they don't bite on

Hand to hand? Air contact from a cough? Come on. Give yer heads a shake.

End of E'coute.

And all these zombie movies we have been pummelled with for five years? Can you even spell mind programming and psyop?

Well, that was an adventure.

I was almost the only person there without a mask, so that actually made me feel a lot better. Except I really need to get some masks for myself.

Well, finally you are getting to see it first hand brother.

I am looking to rent a cottage asap, and get out of dodge for the next five months.

Will I be safe. Who the heck knows, but I know a ghost town when I see one. Been to many mining towns that were thriving decades ago, that are deserted, and gotta say, this looks awfully familiar. Cept no one has moved yet.

If no one got suspicious after that mediocre NBA player ceremoniously licked a microphone with corona. Supposedly, well, you never will be.

and when this all passes and society finds some sort of equilibrium and normalcy again, you'll just move on to the next one. My guess would be 5G.

Just over an hour maybe.

Half an hour to get into the store. Thankful though, thought it was smart and pretty organized. The amount of people in the store was such that you could reasonably be patient to maintain distance.

Prioritized frozen veggies/fruit and canned fruit, meat that I could freeze. Couldn't find any yeast. And they actually had toilet paper, limiting it to one per person.

5g is the thing. Not this

and when 5G isn't it, what's the next thing? 4G wasn't it and I'm seeing a lot of recycled horseshit where lazy fucks on natural news are breaking out the old "CTRL + F" and putting 5's where the 4's used to be.

No yeast is a killer. There are unleavened breads that are good though. There's also some science hacks you can apparently do to get it to rise without yeast but I've never done them myself.
