OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

I went for a bit of a walk today and really only saw two people wearing masks. Stopped at Shoppers Drug Mart and picked up some soda crackers, peanut butter and a couple of chocolate bars. They were out of canned salmon though. There were a few people there but not at least it was not as crowded as the grocery store. If you only need a few grocery items it’s not a bad place to try. It can be hit or miss so it depends how urgently you need something.

This is just really sad. It's hard to comprehend that these are all people with families who are dying alone and with no funerals. At some point the numbers are so big, it doesn't really sink in.

The USA is fooked. That was a cluster eff of epic proportions. This is a drive through testing center and people are getting impatient, getting out of their cars, congregatng, even smoking with other smokers. The staff was going apeshit on them telling them they won't be tested if they don't return to their cars. Astonishing.
you witnessed that?

Yes. I even rolled down my window and yelled at the dumb fucks to get back in their cars. Others were too. Apparently it's "still a free country".

30s male - hockey coach - had asthma but not like he was somebody that was so sick he could not lead a perfectly normal life - NOW people on my bookface are taking it serious

the human side has seemed to get through to some people

Went out for errands and shopping — pretty much a fail. Like drafting McCarron in the first round.

The ATM I needed was inside a bank that now closes early

lineup was too long at both Loblaws and my butcher

did snag some bread and granola at Blackbird

checked the prices of masks at the army surplus — what gougers. They are charging $10 per for N95. Those types should be allocated to hospitals.

Wore homemade mask. First time. Actually increased my paranoia from 1.5 to 9. Just imagined a droplet landing on the mask and me breathing it in the entire time. I know that’s not how it works, but that’s how it feels having something warm covering your face.

Anyway, I have plenty of food, so not in panic mode. Will stick to early morning ventures.
I'll do you one better. I spent much of the day at the hospital. Fuck me.

You guys are all going to kill each other down in Florida, Habsy. Especially if churches are exempt.

That modelling doesn't account for evangelicals packing churches at Easter.

After today I have zero doubt there will be packed churches. It's pretty scary when you think about it. These same people run charitable food banks for homeless people. Think about the further ramifications of spread.

I think whatever the models currently say... it'll at least be double.

The guy who created the models even said his models assume social distancing guidelines are applied by EVERY state before the end of this week.

They do a pretty good job separating the covid folks. Those fellas go to a completely different entrance. It was eerie. It was empty in the non covid area, but I'm still fucking spooked. I guess we'll find out if I actually already got it and if I am immune now!
