OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

no idea how podcasts survive with the low attention span of folks

5 mins in...still have not said anything yet
It's a weird time right now ... seems like the most popular ways to disseminate information are either 30-second sound bites or 3-hour podcasts.

ProTip #1: Listen at 1.2 or 1.3 speed when possible
ProTip #2: Know that they start out with commercials and an introduction

i should figure out how to speed them up

So having fresh natural immunity and getting boosted on the 18th, I should probably be ok to assume I won’t be getting it again in the next two months or so? We are very careful and probably would have had this had hubs coworker not been a complete douche nozzle and come in to work while sick.

reduced risk of getting very sick for sure
but probably still a decent risk of getting covid even after that

seems like everybody is getting covid these days - so you will be exposed to it a lot in the coming month or two

t-minus 48 hours and counting until I get boosted. and then two weeks later, fuck it, I think I'm going out for dinner to my favourite resto.

update on my covid colleague - he is still isolating but so far no one else has any symptoms or a positive test. he is closest to me and my boss and our receptionist and so far, fingers crossed, so good.

I think booster only takes a week to fully kick in

My favorite is that when any celebrity dies, there are immediate rumors that it's because they just took the vaccine. Apparently Bob Saget got his booster last month so that's a thing today. Same thing happened with Betty White.
The funny part is that Bob got covid over the holidays. But nope, it was the booster that killed him.

Disclaimer: there is zero evidence that neither covid nor the booster killed him

MAGA brother has been spamming family chat about this "mass formation psychosis" bullshit. and doing it unironically, funnily enough. where did this come from again??
Sounds like a death cult - oh, wait. Sorry are we talking about those that took the vaccine to help themselves, their families and loved ones.. or the ones that refuse to admit it's a problem because they can't look past the inconvenience of wearing a simple mask?

Yeah nothing is 100% but that's gonna be as close as we can get to it. Hope you're feeling alright.

Most podcast apps have the setting to change the speed, those posted on YouTube as well. When you go to a podcast's direct website, some have the option, some don't.
