OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

Rapid test still negative, feeling like death. Going for a PCR tonight.

How are you fellow sickies?
paralegal was prescribed a puffer because she is having trouble breathing :(

I had to tell her to stop working...

but pops seems to be fine at least.

and our new receptionist was home yesterday with a 'lost voice' but is here today in office and still has a 'lost voice'. what the fuck people.

Wait.. Your paralegal has covid again???

So I don't need to retest negative, I just need to be symptom free to stop isolating (assuming the 5 days has went by)?

What my work’s HR department told me is that Ontario’s current public health guidelines are that you have to be at least five days out from your original symptoms and have to wear a mask for your first five days after isolation.

But apparently that’s about it.

2 days in a row I'm feeling better than the last but not symptom free. Hoping the next day or 2 symptoms are gone. Still getting weird 'fever' sweats whenever I do anything physical (like mowing the lawn), cough still present and mild cold now. no headaches which is nice.

Miss my kids more than anything. Hoping to maybe see them Sunday if all goes well.

Try to take it a easy as much as possible with the physical activity, even after you feel better. Causes a relapse in a lot of people.

That’s more than NS now, its a free for all here

Only ~12pct of current cases in Canada are reinfection. That number has to be even smaller on the east coast given infection rates over the first 3 waves. Somebody contracting it 4 times is extremely improbable.

I think I had a bit of that. Felt my worst on Monday & Tuesday last week & stayed home from work, then woke up Wednesday feeling pretty much fine & returned to work for the rest of the week since I had been testing negative.

Was perfectly fine on Wednesday and on Thursday morning, but felt super fatigued with a lot of brain fog by Thursday afternoon and felt even worse all day Friday, leading up to finally testing positive Friday evening.

Then ended up spending the entire weekend pretty much alternating between lounging on the couch and sleeping.

Seems kinda unreliable given that you can’t even get a PCR to confirm unless you meet pretty strict criteria right now so there’s likely a lot of reinfections going completely undocumented.

Like my likely second infection and current infection.

Yeah, it does seem crazy that someone in Nova Scotia has had it 4 times, but it's not impossible and she wouldn't be the first. With infections so low there pre-Omicron though... I don't know. It seems like some horrible horrible luck to have it happen twice pre Omi.

If she got BA.1 in December and BA.5 in July, that's entirely possible though.
