OT: Hey Nerds! My fcking Back and Legs and Feet

So I WFH full time now and the computer chair I stole/was given from the office is just not cutting it. Ending up with extremely sore legs and feet although this may also be due to poor posture. Anyways, any reccomendations for a chair I can sit in for extended periods? Don't want to spend a fortune on it, but I'm in a lot of pain after sitting for more than an hour or so. I do get up and stretch and take a break as often as I can remember, but some days it doesn't seem to matter. I'm icing / soaking my feet after work which does seem to help , but if I am lax at all it really flares up.

I bought this last year https://www.staples.ca/products/2263720-en-staples-westcliffe-bonded-leather-managers-chair-brown

Not very expensive for a decent chair. I find I have to remind myself to relax and I'm constantly tensing up at my desk.

Bought a mesh back office chair last year this time and had my company pay for it. Chair has been sturdy/great but arms are already cracking/falling apart - but not sure if there are any chairs immune from this.

I finally broke down and had a professional desk and monitor stand delivered too (on the office dime). For a time I was working remotely as a sort of emergency measure - but now that it's more permanent I want to be comfortable.

Make sure you have a nice chair mat too - or replace the wheels with rubber ones that won't tear apart your flooring.

Don't want to spend a fortune on it

Pick one

You're into 350+ for anything decent. If you're not looking to spend that (Serta makes some decent stuff at that price point), just go get the house brand exec chair from Staples, and buy the 1 yr warranty. It's a no questions asked warranty, so use it, wear it the fuck out and complain within a year and they'll just keep replacing them.

Hmm, well I'm gonna see if the company will subsidize. The Staples chair, which seems to be a popular choice, is backup if they won't ante up. But they might.

Get yourself a hip opening course. Or hamstrings. If you’re sore after being seated for work it’s more than likely due to super tight hips and hams. I can share what I’ve used if you’d like. No worries if not.

Take a 30min yoga break every 15mins and you'll feel great.

yes please! 😍
It’s a paid course but you can find stuff online for free if you dig. I found it to be worth it as you get immediate access to the last sessions and can join them live this month for 21 days. There a Q&A period too. If that’s not your jam I’ll message you some options.
