Yeah, she looks flexible and could reduce stress.

Some lawyer was telling me about some crazy condition he got from sitting for long periods. Can't remember, sounded something similar to a clot in his leg or something, that led to an issue with his lung, and resulted in 25% reduced lung capacity, and now he's on blood thinners. Older guy, like 75, but says the doctor told him it could happen to anyone who sits for long periods. Fucking death by desk for lawyers, accountants, and other deskies.

I've gone to 4 physiotherapists for my issues. 2 said my hips were tight and I need to stretch them, 2 said my hips were weak, need to be strengthened and stretching does more harm than good.

So in the end I did nothing about it.

Hips can be weak and tight at the same time due to being seated for extended periods.

Yeah I just got so much conflicting information that I was afraid to do anything that would make it worse.

Actually ME recommended MAT and I found that helped the most back in the day. My problems mostly come from certain muscles not being activated (and as a result are very weak with other muscles compensating and becoming tight).

Went to a lot of people with my issues and no one got to the root of my problems like she did. I was blown away.

Who TF is Jenny? Obviously listen to physios but if they give conflicting info maybe get one to clarify what the actual issue is and give you ways to help the problems. A Physio who is worth their salt will be able to explain where the issue is stemming from and work from there. If not, find one that’s capable.

I’m not affiliated with any yoga stuff but started having pain so I found something that worked for me.
Hoping nobody thought I actually want to make money off you all. Not my bag.

Lol. I totally thought you were bagging on my post. Lmao.

I HATE being called Jenny. The Count ALWAYS called me Jenny whenever he messaged me or posted on FB. Either way, I’ll slowly back away and forget I posted anything. 🙈😜😂

It took me a second but I realized you thought I might be referencing you.

and now that I know that you hate it.....

I do agree with what you said tho! Important to find a physio that works for you and not just settle on the first one you go to. Out of the 4 I went to, they did weird electromagnetic things, needle things that hurt like hell, ultrasound things, etc. Just a waste of time mostly. And then I met the love of my life, Jenny, and everything changed.

Those hip stretches are all terrible if your hip problems are from sitting all day.

First thing you need to do is find out why your hips and hammies are tight then work on getting the other muscle groups firing and working to make up for the over compensating ones

Muscles just dont tighten for no reason they do so because something else is not doing its job. So my suggestion would be, if you are already arent, is working on your core and lower body a bit if you are prone to being in a sitting position all day.

Take the time in a day to do some lunges, body weight squats etc to build up strength. Doesnt have to be any more than body weight just get moving. Static stretching is ok but unless the muscle is conditioned properly you are just pulling on it and making it longer

A potentially easy and inexpensive fix…

Poor lumbar support can also put pressure on the hip flexors because we end up using our hips as stabilizers instead of our core.

try rolling up a hand towel and putting it between the arch or your back and chair.

You might feel immediate relief in your lower back and by extension hips.
