Different opinions are allowed here as they are in every thread. It's the troll like posting that gets a little tiresome. You obviously hate Montreal, Quebec and French Canadians which makes me wonder how you can even still bother cheering for the Habs. Assuming you do.
Oh jeez.
There are many things I love about Montreal and Quebec.
I love the arts and culture scene. I love the unique atmosphere and appearance. I love the cuisine and I love the fact Montreal produces some of the hottest women in North America.
I love all Montreal sports teams and followed them all during my youth, Habs, Als, Impact, The Montreal Express, Montreal rockets and yes, the expos.
I love the feel and appearance of downtown and think it has the best street scene in North America outside of New York. I love the old port and I love La Ronde.
I hate the toxic political atmosphere. I hate the language wars. I hate the societal acceptance of the two previously mentions things. I hate the fickle sports fans who don't seem to really care about anything but the Habs. I was the only expos fan in my circles of friends, only impacts fan, one of two als fans. Nobody I knew were aware that Montreal had a junior team or lacrosse.(Most people I know in edmonton are at least aware they have a lacrosse team)
I hate how quebec is going to hell and all anyone seems to care about is that the signs there aren't in French.
But to the most important part, I love the Habs. My first memories of hockey was being in the cup parade in 93. I grew up on the Habs, I think they are the best team in the nhl's history, the most prestigious and I'm never ashamed to be wearing Habs gear anywhere in the world. If I'm critical of some of the Habs because I want the Habs to be better than they currently are. I want the Habs and Montreal to win the cup more than most things. The Habs are separate from the politics of quebec Imo and I will be buried with my Habs hat if my wife knows what's good for her.
So stick it.
