OT: MLB Thread

Mets already up 1-0 after a half inning.

Strange but the Cubs have their pitcher hitting in the #8 spot instead of 9th. Never seen that before. Either the pitcher is a good hitter or the #9 guy is horrible.

The cards did it a few years ago (But not in playoffs)....

The idea is that the #9 guy acts as a "second leadoff" hitter starting rallies for the top of the order... the pitcher is still the one who sucks, they want the 9 guy on base for the #1 instead of on base for pitcher. Its interesting... I don't think I buy it, but thats the explanation.

Estrada dealing through 2 innings... Jays need him to go deep.

Jays bullpen today...

Hendriks - 59 pitches yesterday, he says he's available today, but you have to think he really isn't.
Tepera - 38 pitches yesterday, again you have to think he's not available.
Hawkins - Available but has coughed up 7 hits in his last 1 2/3 innings. He's all but guaranteed to cough up runs.
Loup - Not with the team (family reasons).
Lowe - 29 pitches yesterday, 12 the day before. Maybe he could face a batter or two but cant see him going long.

That leaves Osuna/Sanchez as the only real options out of the pen.

So if we see David Price, or RA Dickey (who didn't throw many pitches yesterday and as a knuckler, may be able to come back more quickly), this will be why

Canada's team not done yet. Beat KC 7-1. KC still leads series 3-2. Now back to KC for game 6 and maybe game 7

After so many requests I am back to post.

Great game by Estrada.

Jays not done yet. All is right in Toronto.

They have to beat Ventura, and they looked silly bad against him last game. I know they have Price then stroman but they still need to win 2 of 2. It's going to be tough in KC.

They looked silly bad...against Ventura? He gave up eight hits in 5.1 IP.

I still think the Royals will win, but that's not accurate.

Ya but they never got any rallies going. He got the key outs. 3 runs is what's important and they are not going to win if they score 3 runs against a KC team that has put up 33 runs in 5 games so far. I may have exaggerated with silly bad, but they have not played well in the first two games there.
