Did the Jays sacrifice their farm team to load up for this year???

Do they have youngsters coming up? Could they still be a top team next year ?

They need to sign a couple of quality starters and they should contend again. I believe three of their starters are free agents.

Their offense will return pretty much intact....

They clear a lot of payroll in Beurhle, Navarro and Tulowitzki is actually cheaper than Jose Reyes... thats almost 30 m between the three.... so they should be able to grab a good starter or two.

Estrada will go to the highest bidder as this is his last big deal. Doubt they shell out 30 mil for Price long term. Their depth is depleted in the farm system. I think one of Jose or Edwin gets peddled in the offseason , both are a year removed from UFA .

No way they are paying those two 20 mil with Tulo , Martin, Price and eventually JD , something will give on that roster.

They really have no blue chip prospects left in their system. Not to mention, I don't think Sanchez has enough pitches to make it as a starter. They kept him over Thor btw, huge huge mistake. They need 2 high end starters, a #2 a #3 and then decide on dickey. Hutch might be a #5 but he's really under achieving so far. The biggest problem the Jays have is that NYY and BOS will improve, and BOS has so many high end guys that they just need some tweaking and some guys to develop. They are going to sign a #1 pitcher too, and so will NYY. Toronto has JB who shouldn't be playing the field next year and I can see them flipping EE to get a pitcher. Either way, I'd like to see Jzim + Estrada signed + a BP arm + flip EE for a #4 starter. Anything less and I can see the Jays finishing 3rd in the div.

who is Thor ?

Congrats to the Royals. The Jays have themselves to blame. They could have won it. They left far too many men on base.

I actually think Alex A. and Marco Estrada are bigger free agent issues than Price. I'm not a big believer teams will line-up to give Price 200+ million like people believe. He'll get 2-3 teams interested max.

Disagree on Sanchez. Kids a stud.

The Team is in good shape for next year. Rogers will spend $. They can't go back to the way things were. Offence will be better perhaps with Travis back.

Kate Beirness' comment at the end of Sportscentre encapsulates why I wanted Toronto's team to lose. She said they took all of us on an incredible ride. She assumed we all wanted them to win.
