Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, Toronto Blue Jays = Chokers

Raptors finished how high last year, and what success do they have in the NBA? Jack all.
Leafs go on runs all the time, hell, maple leaf fans get hardons when their team is in first place 2 weeks into the season, and EVERY year, YEAR AFTER YEAR, EVERY SINGLE FKN YEAR, they choke!!

Toronto teams choke, that's what they are known for. They aren't known for winning, that's for sure!! Sure Toronto has a decent team, so did the raptors, but they will choke, it's inevitable. It's the Toronto curse. Sure I wish a Canadian team would win, but I'm so convinced they are cursed that I am trying to not care so much even though I watch every game hahah. Either way, don't get too excited, if history repeats itself they most likely will lose in the WC game to choke hard like every other team in the city does.

The Jays last world series came after the Habs last cup BTW.

Still his point is well taken. You can't lump the Jays in with the Leafs and Raptors when it comes to choking. They choked in the 80's whenever they got close, like 85 and 87, but those 2 World Series trophies in the early 90's prove that they got over that. And you can't really say they've ever choked since because they've never contended since 93.

Of course, none of that guarantees them a damn thing. There's still a lot of games to be played between now and the beginning of October. We'll see if they can stand the heat now that they can't hide in obscurity anymore. Opposing teams will prepare for them a lot differently now that they're front-runners.

Sounds like the Expos in '94. Fun team to watch; 1st place; good crowds at the games with some games in August and Sept that were already close to sold out in early Aug... and then... :hanged:

I wonder if Jays fans would like talk of a strike right about now?

Boo-hoo.

I don't get the hatred. There was never a rivalry. I can't have it so neither can you? Weak. :rolleyes(2):

You'll have to explain where you see hatred coming from. I don't give a **** about the Jays but I don't hate them... was even at the game in Atlanta on the night when they won their 1st WS.

Just saying could you imagine a strike talk popping up right now, how pissed off that would make Jays fans at a time when the team is finally putting it all together?

Well 4Life a certain org voted to contract another when it easily could have abstained or voted no.

I don't really hate them although I prefer it when they lose.

They would be pissed

apparently their tv numbers are way up, all the bandwagoners are joining in

I think its way cool that the Jays are doing so well this year and have a legitimate shot at the post season. Wether people like it or not they are by default Canada's team when it comes to baseball. I'm certainly on the bandwagon after several years hiatus...

Even back when the Expos were around, I never had much hatred for the Jays. As mentioned, they were never really rivals. And sure I resented them for voting against the Expos, but like on Survivor, they were the alliance mate that had to keep voting with the rest of the team. So since I've been in Toronto for a few years, it's fun to get excited with the team. And the fact that it's led by a Montrealer in AA helps too.

Now, when Montreal does get a team back, I'll definitely have a hard choice. I'll probably have to be one of those stupid people who "supports both teams" which I always hate.

If they end up in the same division, then they will be rivals. Will have to choose one then

I'll never have that choice to make. I've hated the Jays since 1977. Heck, I started hating the Giants in 1976 when they almost moved to Toronto. If the Bills wind up moving there I'll start hating them too.

Well the Jays and Habs both won the last title in the same year....so maybe this is the habs year!

Nah you hated the Giants because they are from SF and you figured if you liked them it would make you gay.
