He won't get federal money from Mulcair. If govt pledged money now, after the boy died, there would be hell to pay.

This is Canada, not the US. We don't fund stadiums.

There could be help in the form of loans or land purchase but unless you run the F1 event, where there does seem to be a lot of tax dollars used to renovate the track, I doubt any of the Gov'ts pony up free money.

The only way I see a baseball park becoming reality in Mtl, is if they go the Giants way, privately funded - loophole being tax breaks (tax free land, parking & concessions, and charitable write offs for investors).

He's been speaking at events with the Montreal chamber of commerce and has had several discussions with potential investors who would show very serious interest.

He's doing the right things on the business side of things and starting to meet with owners around baseball is one of the logical steps to take considering that any move or expansion will have to be voted by owners.

Ya Mulcair wants to give all our taxpayer money to unions and refugees. But wouldn't it be the provincial not federal govnt that would chip in anyways?

Any level of government can chip in, but none of them will.
