OT: Movies/TV Shows

Black Phone is REALLY good. It shouldn't be given it's plot, but it works and sucks you in. An example of a legit fantastic directing job that will be quickly forgotten due to it being a horror film. Ethan Hawke with a mask on at almost all times is terrific. the kids are all great. I thought it lived up to the great buzz/reviews more than Maverick did for me.

My Dad and I really enjoyed Elvis. What an amazing performance by Austin Butler and Tom Hanks.
I've been waiting for reviews.

Grew up listening to Elvis in the car. The only other choice was Englebert Humperdinck so there's that.

Speaking of, were any of you subjected to mind numbing music in the car by your parents? Forrest Whittaker anyone?

I think I made sure that the family 8 tracks were never thrown out. I think they're stored away somewhere. same as all the VHS tapes and vinyl.

Reminds me of my dad whenever I come across them. I should find an old 8 track player to listen to them. If they aren't disintegrated that is.

Elvis was my Dad’s favourite so I listened to him all the time growing up. I know all the songs. My Dad actually saw Elvis in May 77 in Auburn Hills.

I was really happy to take him to see it. He really thought it was great. Even got a bit misty when they did Unchained Melody at the end.

it has all the wildness and over the top visuals that you would expect from a Baz movie but it worked.

Conway Twitty and Johnny Cash

I grew up to love both.
