I think Tom Cruise loves him and probably wishes he was the lead in Maverick.

I think he'll make sure Glen has a big career.

Powell is cool and fun, but I don't know that he has that star drawing power. I'm not sure anyone new does, or even can anymore in this age of fractured attention spans spread out over countless media.

And Cruise has never been in the business of pumping up younger guys into superstardom. He didn't get along with Pitt on Interview, and other than him, sort of always makes sure that his movies are cast with clear second fiddle lesser name types who can't compete with him. Miles Teller would be another one. Harmless. Though he did put Cavill in MI because he was a superfan and superman, and awesome in that role, but he made sure he died in the end! Short of putting Powell in every Mission Impossible that ever gets made from here on out, Cruise isn't in any position to ensure anyone has a big career. If not for Top Gun and MI, Cruise himself probably wouldn't be in much. And when MI wraps up (if it ever will), it's almost hard to imagine what his next vehicle would be. If Tom wants longevity into his twilight years, he'll need to step away from the action roles and move into drama again. Sad to say, but he isn't looking all that great lately, it was tough to buy him as unstoppable Ethan Hunt in the last MI.

Wasn't that what Daniel Craig just did though?

Don't get me wrong, id fuck with a direct Goldeneye sequel though. Trevalyen's son a double 0 who finds out how his old man died, etc.
Connery did it once. And there's a whole story behind that one.

I love Pierce. Gimme the new gritty/realistic-ish Bond style with Pierce, who really only got to do kite surfing over a tsunami with a satellite laser chasing him sensationalist Bond. And Goldeneye is still my fave and most watchable of maybe all the Bonds since he took over, so yeah, I want Ned Stark Jr. out for blood in a sequel. Call it the Song of Spies and Fire.

Oh wow, I just finished a full watch of his two series a few months ago. Before that, only really just knew him by name and thinking he was lame when I was a kid. But his shows were just comfortable entertaining 30 minute distractions.

Good run, he outlived pretty much everyone, from both his young leading ladies (both hot), to just about everyone else on both series, even Scolari who was obviously much younger.
