OT: Movies/TV Shows

So you'd prefer that they write-off the iconic character than to find a replacement actress?

I would, personally.

It's a big fictional universe, and they're already creating new characters left, right and center.

And they've already permanently done away with one iconic character already in the series. Two, if you count the fact that Vader was also killed off in ROTJ.

Since they've filmed all her scenes I'm sure they could find a way to edit it to kill her off or adjust the storyline to make it unnecessary to have her in the following installment.

Not knowing the plotline of the next movie, I would say the best bet would be to have her character die essentially in the trailer for the final movie. So maybe you keep going the next one as normal, but you start film 9 with her funeral. Maybe you re-shoot a couple scenes of 8 to lean that way if that's how you go, but yeah, I don't think you can re-cast her. You can also bring her back as a CGI force ghost just using old footage as well.

I'm not a Star Wars fan and don't really give a shit, but you can't recast a character like that. There is 0% chance they will.

Either save a couple of scenes in the can for the final film and then just have the ship she's on blow up mid-sentence or something, or take clips of her voice and have her die off-screen. Or create a whole new mystery by having her kidnapped off-screen by rogues who send back some item of hers as a sign that they've killed her, and never confirm it in the film.

But you never recast that role.

Vader died??? Can I get a spoiler alert, man?

What about the child of Luke SKywalker send a robot back in time to protect leia, but the child of the emporer sent a more powerful robot to terminate Leia,.....

Given the success of the recent films, we can at least be safe in knowing that she won't simply die due to a "broken heart."

Nocturnal Animals is a great film. Tom Ford really has great abilities as a director. It's a very original film with how he develops the story and characters. It's one of the best films I've seen this year (Really shit year for movies though).

A rough year for celebrity deaths. 2016 ends with the death of Father Mulcahy (William Christopher).

I have to say it - the actual game part of the outdoor games suck.

Choppy, slow, out of synch, low scoring.

Edit - wrong thread. But I guess it's ok since I'm commenting on poor entertainment value.

So I'm binge watching West world. On episode 6 now. I am enjoying it quite a bit. Should have known it would be a little off. Michael Crichtons stuff tends to go that way.

Chrichton's work really only laid out the concept.

The rest is pure original stuff. And it's a Nolan production, very clearly so.
