OT: Movies/TV Shows

Adolescence on Netflix is pretty incredible.

Stephen Graham gives the best performance of his career, and probably the best performance I’ve seen in film or TV in the last year.
I couldn't do it

Watched the first 15 mins and turned it off. Too intense.

It admittedly the whole thing is pretty intense, but I think it’s easily the best piece of film or television I’ve seen in 5+ years….about a topic that imo hasn’t been grappled with properly in this way, in any other show or film.

The fact each episode is done in “one” single long take makes it all the more impressive, but that continuity makes it all hit home that much harder.

Erin Doherty’s (princess Anne in the Crown) is remarkable as well…..but pretty much everyone in it crushes it.

It’s maybe the best show I’ve seen when it comes to social commentary that looks at multiple layers of influence, like The Wire did.

A++ 10/10 Masterpiece, imo…..must watch.

The one-shot episodes are incredibly impressive.

Of course, I haven't been in these situations, but the dialogue seems extremely realistic in every single scene. Usually, you get a lot of conversation that sounds kinda cool but nobody actually talks like that.

I really liked it. 8.5/10 for me.

I will probably eventually check it out.

I'm assuming it has We Need to talk about Kevin vibes.

If you like British Comedy, specifically David Mitchell, I'm watching his 6 part series called Ludwig....liking it so far.

Basic premise-twin brothers, one a cop, one a neurotic, agoraphobic puzzle solver (basically Mitchell as himself)...cop disappears, brother has to take his place.

Fun.
Yeah, I'm enjoying it. I mentioned earlier that Douglas is Cancelled is good too. Starts as a comedy and then goes very dark.

I just made the mistake of watching Joker Follie a deux. Fucking horrible.

I'll give the cinematography some props but holy shit was that painstaking to watch.

I think they believed they were being so smart and creative by making it a musical.
