OT: Movies/TV Shows

First few episodes. Seems good not great so far.

It hits different for anyone that's worked in the business. As ridiculous as some of the situations are in that show, it's generally not that far off from real scenarios that happen on set.

This season is such a brilliant premise…..Fielder’s a comedic genius. A true 1 of 1 talent.
Right? It's so hard to tell what is real people responding and what is scripted. The writing is so subtle. The pilot this week who got kicked off all of the dating apps, my god. I was dying. Then he locks him in the simulator and you get this full display of his "awesome" skills with women.

Or the scene where he has someone writing and reading emails for him. His inability to function as a human so he has to watch so carefully and then perform this absurd mimicry.

The Rehearsal latest episode was ridiculous. So many lol moments. Paramount+ Germany scenes omg.

Absolutely. Consistent laugh out loud scenes... Fielder is just a master of comedy. And I can absolutely see 50% of the audience flat out not getting it.

The crazy thing is, that his ideas seem way over the top and pointless and then somehow it ends up working way better than you could have possibly imagined.

The Long Walk by Richard Bachman (aka Stephen King) was a pretty good book. Not sure how it'll translate to film though.

I read the short story collection 25-30 years ago and thought that this and a running man remake waaaay more book accurate could both be excellent. They've gotta keep the run time on this pretty short though, it really is just walking, tension and killing.

The short story ends with a half dead Richards dummying the building the broadcast company is in with an airliner and doesn't have weirdo cartoon villains with a fucking lite brite kit strapped to their heads.
