Right?! Absolutely brilliant.
It’s almost perfect!! (eps 5 was slightly weak/lazy/unnecessary)
I was a big fan of season 1 but this was next level

Loved season 1... But yeah, season 2 is a clear step above. It’s almost perfect!! (eps 5 was slightly weak/lazy/unnecessary)

Fuck most of you for barely discussing The Rehearsal.
This one is definitely not for everyone.Never heard of it until right now.
Hunted it up and have it bookmarked to check out soon, you guys rarely steer me wrong.
Have you come around to Nathan? I recall a HEATED conversation surrounding him years ago with lof. It’s almost perfect!! (eps 5 was slightly weak/lazy/unnecessary)

I have no memory of that conversation.. but I would bet dollars to donuts that if one of CH1 or LoF didn't get Nathan Fielder... It wouldn't be CH1.Have you come around to Nathan? I recall a HEATED conversation surrounding him years ago with lof.

It was you and lof vs presto about Nathan for you. You two weren't fans. What do you mean? I never disliked NF (or LOF)
He got him, he just didn't find him funny. I think they were both on the same page with that. This could all be resolved with a simple search in the thread but I'd rather speculate and use my memory.I have no memory of that conversation.. but I would bet dollars to donuts that if one of CH1 or LoF didn't get Nathan Fielder... It didn't get heated at all btw, we just disagreed and moved on with our lives
Nothing harder in comedy than being unique and original. It's much harder than simply being funny.I just took a look at the archives…I wrote “ his ideas are great. I feel a sense of admiration at his comedic ballsiness. But it doesn’t make me laugh”
Which in NF for you…. He didn’t that much. Mostly because I often felt bad for his victims. I did watch quite a few of those…
But I laughed a lot in The Rehearsal. And my admiration skyrocketed because the show deals with a very important topic for me — how to have difficult conversations — while also adding layers of realism and fiction that pokes fun at almost everything in unscripted tv.

I found NFY funny as shit, but yeah I can see how it's not for everyone. Some moments just leave you shell shocked more than actually laugh, which for me is good too. I watch stuff to feel things.
Yeah, that was my take too. I love the format of tricking unsuspecting folks with seemingly oblivious behavior (just like Borat and the alter egos), but he just wasn't all that funny at pulling it off.I just took a look at the archives…I wrote “ his ideas are great. I haven't seen The Rehearsal but I would give it a try.
I can't remember if I posted this here, but Windy City Heat is a film I had never heard about before last year, the whole thing being a prank (by Jimmy Kimmel and other producers way back in the day, 20+ years ago) to dupe some guy who thought he was an incredible actor into thinking he actually landed a role on a real film. I don't think I've laughed so hard since the old Borat stuff on HBO. It's free on YouTube and deserves a watch if you like this sort of thing. Fucking hilarious.
