OT: Movies/TV Shows

Always been a Trekkie, from the start. Enjoyed some Star Wars movies, then lost track of all the projects and never felt a need to catch up. Don't really feel a need to catch up with all of the Star Trek stuff either. 😄
Seen all the Star Trek too. Was always a science fiction guy.

Drive-in for me.
What made it extra memorable was that at the time my father was doing carpet in custom vans (you'd need to remember the 70's lol) and the one we took to see Star-Wars was fully done up with one of those murals with a buff guy holding a hot topless chick, both of them on a chariot where the back wheels of the van were the chariot wheels.

I was maybe 10 at the time, thought we were hot shit rolling in in that.
Every kid wanted a customized van with shag carpet interior walls, a waterbed, TV and stereo with a kick-ass mural on the outside and a dome window.

Star wars is really fantasy not sci fi. Sci fi is esthetic only.

Andor's more sci fi than the others tho.
Spaceships and lasers can’t be fantasy. I’d say fantasy is generally anti-technology, magic stuff like LOTR, GOT, etc.

yeah the force is magic. lightsabers are swords. luke is a Chosen One hero who needs to defeat the great magic evil sorcers.

nothing really sci fi about star wars.
I can give you the first sentence.

The second sentence is totally silly.

where's the science in Star Wars? Other than oooh spaceships and energy weapons, there's nothing sciency about it. Compare that to Star Trek which always tried to have some threads of real science, especially in TNG.

trying to explain the force through hard sci fi terms instead of magical ones
