OT: Movies/TV Shows

I did like how his list includes fun films he just enjoys and are perfect for what they are (Jackass is perfect for what it intends to be). I'm getting tired of the usual critic lists of bad Oscar bait films everyone will forget in a month (Reading various lists now for 2025 is painful).
Ironically with Dano, he wasn't even cast in TWBB initially. An actor was fired and they went with him.

I would put Black Hawn Down, Fury Road, The Road, Zodiac, as the only films I truly thought were great since 2000' (I might be forgetting 1 or 2)

Dano was cast, but just for one of the roles, then they fired the other actor and had Dano play both. Pretty sure that’s how it went down.

Still can’t get over how good Tim Robinson’s “The Chair Company” was……man is on a Nathan Fielder run of pure gold after pure gold.

Got Apple+ again after not having it for a while, and feels great dipping back into “Slow Horses”, season after season they keep crushing it. I think they probably still make 1-2 episodes a season more than is necessary to tell the stories they do, but it’s one of my current favs.

Their utilization of Katherine Waterston, and Freddie Fox is season 3 was chef kiss perfect.

- the ‘Mr. Scorsese’ docuseries was every bit as enjoyable as you’d expect it to be, and you leave every episode wanting to go watch whatever project they were reminiscing about that ep.

- TASK on HBO wasn’t quite the calibre we’ve come to expect from Sunday Night Prime Time HBO shows, but it was still an entertaining watch….going to be heartbreaking when Netflix sucks the blood out of what’s made HBO so special over the years.

Paramount winning with a hostile takeover wouldn’t be any better either, with the poison pill they’ve attached to their projects by cozying up to MAGA.

The chair company is excellent. It's amazing how Tim can keep some of the complete absurdity of human behaviour from his other shows and put it into a more of a real world environment and it still works. I need a show to watch with my wife so I will look into slow horses.

The last thing we watched was the p diddy doc on netflix. That guy got so many people killed.

I’m a big Tim Rob fan (Detroiters, ITYSL) but I can’t get into his longer form stuff — I found The Chair Co and Friendship both mid

We ended up watching it last night. It was kinda interesting. Never did watch the show... and this definitely reinforced the reasons why. It's just such a disturbing topic.
