OT: NFL thread

Irregardless of the call, Steelers choked big time...

You are up 24-16 on the Pats, and allow them to come back. Yes it's Tom Brady, but that's not an excuse....you had them down, and allowed them to steal the win.

This game probably decided who's going to the Superbowl in the AFC. Steelers were my preseason pick, but now they just screwed everything up.

I still think that the Steelers can win the AFC. It isn't easy to beat the same team more than once in a season and Pittsburgh will be motivated to avenge the theft from yesterday.

Of course, the Steelers' hopes depend largely on whether Antonio Brown is healthy or not.

Unless they find a way to prevent the model from passing to Gronkowski, they won't.

Lost in all the faux outrage is 7 made the wrong decision on the INT.

I do wonder though how Wehave can say the Dez call in 2014 was correct but yesterday's was not. Both we catches, moves, stretching for end zone and ball out of hand when hit the ground.

I guess Pete Carroll isn't the only person in the NFL dumb enough to call for a slant route at the goal line against the Patriots. You'd think that other teams would have learned from that mistake but no.

The Raiders were also dumb enough to NOT give the ball to Lynch at the end of their game against the Cowboys.

They were far out though and it was 3rd down. Anthony Brown was saved from being blamed for dropping an easy INT due to Carr fumbling the ball out of the end zone.

3rd and 3 with plenty of time left. Carr was being reckless with the ball and almost got intercepted 3 times on that drive. He was trying really hard to turn the ball over. Lynch would have gotten at least 3.

I am trying to figure out what Lynch was so upset about to the point he yelled at the official. I think he just likes his thug persona

Big Ben called that play...not the coaching staff.....the replay shows the coaches screaming NO when they saw Ben was calling his own play

He said the complete opposite. That the he wanted to ground the ball and the coaching staff called for a play.
I doubt he would be lying ..

At the post-game press conference, the media were asking the coach if he was pissed that Ben called his own play by deciding to go for it instead of grounding the ball

I think he was lying as all of his teammates were ready for the play. The problem is he called a fade instead of a slant. A missed fade still gives them a FG try on 4th down

So sick of the pro Patriots officiating in the league. It's really gotten ridiculous.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist in the least but is Bob Kraft talking to the refs on his cellphone during the reviews? No way was there enough evidence to overrule the touchdown called on the field at the end of the first half.

Notwithstanding the above, there's no way Buffalo was going to win today.

It absolutely changes the complexion of games though. It's absolutely nuts how many calls they get each week.

Today it just would have dragged out and extended your totally false hope . . . but yeah, it seems to have reached a ridiculous level of absurdity in games involving the Patriots.
