Weird stat re Stroud today. He had a QB rating of 28 (max is 158.3). Had he just spiked the ball every snap, his rating would have been 39.6. Credit to the Houston defence for keeping it close.

I've seen enough games to know what's likely to happen in a given situation.
For instance, if I see that it's 4th and 3 and the team with the ball doesn't send out the punting unit, I know that they will line up as if they're going for it on 4th down, the QB will audible in an attempt to draw the defense offside, the play clock will wind down, and at the last second the offense will call a time out before sending out the punting unit like they were going to do all along.
On a field goal attempt, the opposing coach will inevitably call a time out for no good reason trying to ice the kicker.
Both of these time wasting plays could be fixed by removing a time out. There's no good reason for teams to have 6 time outs in a game, other than to give the television networks an extra commercial break. Take away one time out per half and games will be less static and boring.
And your beloved CFL is stupid for making teams run a play with 0 on clock and for having teams give up safeties or punting with 1:30 to go. CFL snobs act like their game is so superior.
It also won't look like the CFL starting next year with the stupid field dimension changes. NFL lite with worse players.

It is superior, primarily because the the game is set up to force players to make plays and limits how much interference overly conservative coaches can have on a moment to moment basis.
