OT: NFL Thread

Oh, no no, no, actually, not only can San Francisco win with a fourth string QB, they can win with anyone!

Annnnd just like that. It's a two touchdown game with San Francisco's defense deciding to play dumb.

Game's over.

You said game over before Purdy got hurt.

Don't sprain a hamstring now.
Nope.

I said it the second he got hurt and they needed to have Josh Johnson come in.

With Purdy, San Francisco had a legitimate chance and excluding their QBs, I think San Francisco has largely been the better team. But with Josh Johnson?

Goooooood luck with that.

Screens and running the ball will work, up to a certain point. It's highly effective in small spurts.

Over a full game when the offensive line isn't categorically better than the opposing team's defensive line?

And with a guy who's a career practice squad-er at QB?

Yeah, good luck with that.
I wouldn’t put my money on them but they can win playing a perfect game on defense, creating a few turnovers, not committing any of their own, and not taking penalties.

So far they have failed in every facets of the game. Only McCaffrey so far has shown up.

In the regular season, sure. It's feasible.

In the playoffs? Against the best or second best roster from top to bottom, that includes the best D-Line in the league? Virtually impossible.

The one thing a QB can’t do is turnovers. The one thing a defense can’t do is penalties. Remove both and it’s a tie game.
It’s not like Philly has been that explosive, SF is self-destructing.

This game is definitely over. Besides the obvious loss of QB, SF got dominated in all facets of the game. Philly looking strong. Hoping for a face off with Cincinnati.

If San Francisco ends up winning, boy oh boy do I want to hear the excuses the Jalen Hurts truthers are going to have.
That aged well.

Anyway, this actually is a “good” thing for the Niners. They weren’t winning the SB with Purdy so now they can give Lance a legit look next season without any guilt and see what they have. If he falters, go to Purdy.

Hurts had what 150 yards passing and almost half was on a pass that wasn't a catch (Shanahan blew it). Eagles did dismantle them though.

Bengals couldn’t muster anything during the last two drives.

Yeah but the late hit call was a little ticky-tacky, even though it was probably a penalty by the strict letter of the rules. It didn’t need to be called, however, at that point in the game.
