I hope you're right that it's all bluster. Just saying it alone can be enough to provoke Russia into a defensive strike across NATO borders. If it's a game of chicken, it's egregiously high-risk, and highly irresponsible. My gut is not liking this at all. And just before the US election. This smells...bad.

No they aren't and if WW3 happens it will be Putin's fault, not the West's. All Russia needs to do to make all this go away is to get the fuck out of Ukraine and stay the fuck out. If they insist on continuing the Ukies, with our help will bleed them white.

The Russians don't have the guts. Every so-called "red line" has been crossed and Putin hasn't done shit about any of it. He's worthless and weak and pretty soon he's going to be assassinated. Only a matter of when.

There is a big a big difference here. I'm 100% against Russia's invasion of Ukraine. And I strongly believe Putin is a thug. However, I'm not convinced even that (invasion of Ukraine) is as cut-and-dry as our own propaganda machine makes it out to be.

But, if Ukraine fires medium and long-range missiles into Russia, that is ONE HUNDRED PERCENT a different situation. And that would mean NATO has declared war with Russia. As Ukraine is NOT a NATO member. And this would be coordinated by and implemented by NATO. Ukraine has no such capability natively. Because of this, there is no logical way that can be construed as being Russia's fault if they DEFEND themselves. NATO really has no business in this dispute. None. And Russia has the right to defend their country from attack.

There are always 2 sides to every issue. It's a very naive and flawed way of thinking to think in all good or all bad terms. That is a chief trait of Cluster B personality disorders (Narcissism, Sociopathy etc) called splitting. And this is exactly the kind of thinking that if applied in terms of nuclear weapons, can lead to the end of this planet. We have to see both sides and have dialogue.

This is no longer a metaphorical "red line". They are actually talking in real terms of firing long and medium range missiles into Russian territories (some rumors as early as this weekend). That is a declaration of war by NATO vs Russia. And I can guarantee to you that Russia will respond. And this could quickly escalate into a very, very bad situation. And it will be all NATO's fault. All.

Easy for you to say sitting behind a computer. The Ukranians in Poland won't sign up, why should a single Canadian parent risk losing a child if those people won't fight? I told y'all at Zeke's echo chamber 15-18 months ago that Trudeau wanted to put our boys at risk, you all scoffed and called me names. Looks like I might not have been far off.

Guaranteed his kid won't be going to fight, so neither will mine.

Exactly. I have a 14 year old son. And there is no way I'm going to let him be a sacrificial lamb for scum like the globalists who are picking a fight with Russia. Russian and Ukraine are connected to each other for millennia. It's as close to being a civil war as one gets. And too many idiots don't get the fact that geopolitically speaking, it's none of our fn business. Sooner or later the West is going to have to deal with Putin. He will make it unavoidable because we aren't just going to let him do what he wants indefinitely. So if your kid or my nephew in the RCN have to die, so be it. Do you think parents in WW2 just said "Fuck you, I'm not sending my kid to war"? No, because they understood that the only way to stop fascism is to kill fascists.
