but as usual, those draconian measures got some poor granny or single mom who donated because she wanted an end to the no longer necessary mandates or who lost a job due to her decision to control her own body. In my view it breached the Charter and was not saved by section 1 as it was too broad. You did not like the trucker convoy, that is a reasonable argument, but to seize trucks, cash, freeze bank accounts was something I cannot abide.

I will admit I could stomach Carney as PM even though I think he is a stuffed shirt as he was not tied to that shit but even though I prefer Freeland, I could never vote for her this time as a result of the Emergency Act. It is the real reason I cannot vote Liberal this time regardless of the leader. They went too far for me.

They didn't go far enough for my liking. The anti-maskers needed to be punished and were never "no longer necessary" in February 2022. They staged an illegal occupation hoping it would lead to a coup. They had no other endgame other than the one the Feds imposed on them when they started busting heads.

You have to remember that the purpose of these measures isn't just to deal woth the situation at hand but to prevent it from happening a second time. You need a deterrent and the threat of getting shit-pumped by the CRA as well as imprisonment and your kids being taken away is the only thing that those inbred hillbillies understood.

The only people outraged by the EA were the fascist clowns getting FAFO'd. Anyone living in Ottawa was grateful to JT for curb-stomping them. The only complaint was that he should have done it sooner.

It's not about fascism, it's about who is being punished. It isn't being fascist to punish fascists so you need to pay attention to who is targeted, not the method by which they are targeted. The people who got fucked over were right wing shit stains from thr prairies. The more extreme their political beliefs, the harder you need to punish them.
