Yeah, given how the team played in the game, a tie would have been very possible. Of course, even if they got that, with what the game against Croatia ended up they would still then have to win by like 3 goals against Morocco to make it through, so it would still be a super uphill climb.

It would be nice to win a game, though. Come out of the tournament with a little moral victory. Even a draw would be nice so that Qatar ends up as the only team without a point at all. At this point I would take that.

Play that exact game vs Belgium 100 times and Canada maybe wins 95 of them. Historically unlucky. In saying that, even if they won, it's possible they would have lost the final 2 matches and still be on he outside looking in. They're the underdogs in all 3 of their group matches. But a win would have been so big and so exciting and given them a chance to advance. Such a shame. I don't take any moral victory in that one because I really don't think that a tournament that happens ever 4 years is suitable for moral victories. Not that I expect them to win the WC, but even a single win in this group would be something to be proud of and way better than the moral victory of "they deserved to win a game, we'll get 'em in 4 years!"
