given the injuries and illness meant 8 players that would normally play didn't he had to step up, and that he did. Bad enough having Kimpembe, Benzema, L Hernandez, Kante and Pogba out, they also couldn't use Rabiot, Coman or Umpecano (sp) today due to flu/colds.
It is setting nicely for Messi to win the trophy and get carried off the field with it.

I still think France has a solid chance of knocking off Argentina. I am not convinced of their depth outside of Messi. Julian Alvarez has stepped up but Lautauro has been awful this tournament.
They don't have a ton of creativity outside of Messi, and I think they will struggle to score against France.
