Even against Italy in the Euro's they took an early lead after 2-3 minutes and then tried to defend for the next 88. A team a little more clinical than that version of Italy, probably wins that game 3-1, 4-1. They play not to lose once they have a lead against tougher opponents, but they really don't have the personnel or system to play that way.
They had 6 defenders out there before the goals, but 2-3 of them were more attacking options. Spence, O'Rielly and even Konsa typically push forward and they all looked out of place trying to defend deep...this isn't surprising though, because teams don't typically play 6 at the back.
one very cool thing about this assist is that he had the ball in a very similar position on the first goal, and again drew in 2 defenders, but went left and passed to the middle for the 1st goal. This time he just hinted at going left again, got both defenders to bite a bit, and then went hard right to make space for that perfect cross.
nothing i love more than seeing the elite guys set players up early in the game for moves they need to make later on.
Also underrated part of the winning goal is that Lautaro while short is a great jumper. The tall defenders may have thought they had him covered but he just surprised them with the leap.
