OT: Tennis anyone?

Re: OT: Tennis anyone? Raonic, Bouchard, The Majors, etc.

Match lasted just under 3 hours mainly because Nadal didn't have to do this a much...

BTW... Daniel Nestor lost in the semi's of the Men's Doubles but won in the semi's of the Mixed Doubles so he'll play in the Final this weekend.

Re: OT: Tennis anyone? Raonic, Bouchard, The Majors, etc.

It's too bad Nestor isn't ''pimped'' more by the media here in Canada....he had an amazing career.

But because it's doubles (or mixed doubles), it doesn't count as great for he media....

Just like Erik Guay (skier) is having an amazing career but nobody bothers mentioning it on the news (I follow ski a lot and not just during Olympic year)

You're kinda obsessed with that eh.

Nestor will be in the Tennis hall of fame. He has nearly 30 million in career winnings.

I know what the response will be but I have to ask again, how can Federer be the best ever when Nadal owns his ass 23-10?

Re: OT: Tennis anyone? Raonic, Bouchard, The Majors, etc.

This is just an assumption, but I believe that if both players were the exact same age, Nadal would be considered the best ever.

He would have been comparable to Raonic if it wasn't for injuries: big serve (and fh?)..., good serve-and-volleyer!

I'll give you an example... Marat has won slams and is very talented but someone like Fabrice Santoro had his number even when he reached #1... Does this mean that Fabrice Santoro was better than Marat Safin?

Re: OT: Tennis anyone? Raonic, Bouchard, The Majors, etc.

Except Nadal won 13 slams, and may very well have 14 by Sunday.

I have no idea who Farbrice Santoro is.

bingo, we aren't talking about a bum on the tour, we are talking about a guy with 13 major titles, been number one, and has won a major on all four surfaces.

Federer is likely still the best overall but with every loss to Nadal, it is a harder argument to make.

Personally, I think Nadal hates the fact Federer got all that lauding despite not being able to beat him, and he goes out and performs at his utmost every match against Federer.

Shame on you. Fabrice Santoro was no bum and my point still stands. . .

Re: OT: Tennis anyone? Raonic, Bouchard, The Majors, etc.

he wasn't a top guy either. It is certainly arguable that if Federer is considered the best overall but cannot beat another all time great that perhaps the other all time great is the best overall.

But how can Nadal be considered the best overall with all the slams and the skills on all the types of courts Federer has displayed? Nadal's specialty is clay and has mental edge in the h2h with Fed but that's about it. Nadal has gotten beaten by way too many others players in comparison to Federer and was #2 for a very loooong time as a result...

If Nadal gets his 14th Slam, he's 3-4 behind Federer....

Even if he only wins 1 Slam per year from here on out (he'll likely win more), he's gonna catch Federer

But people seem to forget how dominant Federer was from 2004 to 2009....pure dominance....Nadal was never this dominant for that long of a span

This is why I think Federer is better than Nadal, right now, even though Nadal owns Federer head to head.
