I had a driver that had driven all over the USA at my previous employer. Dude told me some wild shit. Apparently there was an area (it was somewhere in the South, I want to say one of the Carolinas), where junkies would literally jump on the running boards when the truck was taking off from a stop and try to get in to rob the driver or just get money in exchange for jumping off. If the driver didn't comply, they'd hold on as long as possible.
